Journal Entry # 2: Reality inside a Book
What Readers really feel:
Reading a fictional book has been my hobby at the age of 10, 4th grade. I was influenced by the smartest girl in class who happens to be my seatmate inside the classroom to read books since she loves reading, I started with starter books, like Sweet Valley Kids; Geronimo Stilton; then I moved with The Clique Series and some Nancy Drew books.
I borrowed books from our library and to some of my classmates, The first book I ever bought was In or Out. But because of the flood, my first ever book was gone. :(
Sad, but after that I started reading Sophie Kinsella books, while waiting for my Aunt; she left me inside National Bookstore with Php 500. She told me to buy whatever book I want/desire, so I just searched and saw her books in one corner, The Shopaholic Series. I wanted to buy it all but my money was only good for one book, and guess what? since I was a starter in reading I bought the fifth book 'Shopaholic and Baby.' weird right? but I enjoyed it. After that, I started to buy the rest of the series and completed it. Sophie Kinsella is the first author that was in my book shelf since the flood incident. I bought all her books even her single series.
Then came Nicholas Sparks, his books are very hard to forget since it gives you heartbreak after reading each book because when you read his book someone always dies. No matter what. The Last Song was the first book that I've read from his books. It was my 13th birthday I think we were at National Bookstore and it caught my eye because I saw the movie-tie in edition of the book. I find the picture cute (Miley and Liam's picture as the cover of the book) So I asked my mom to buy it for me as a birthday gift, and she agreed and bought it for me. Then I forgot the next book that I bought but I think I have 5-6 of his novels. He never fails me whenever I read his books. Yes, it may leave me sad; but I am satisfied.
And up until now, I am 15 and I read/ buy books, if not I download eBooks online. My classmates also influenced me in the world of Young Adult/Fantasy/Romance kind of books, but mostly young adult/fantasy. They read a lot of books like that and I loved reading it like the Hush Hush Series of Becca Fitzpatrick and Fallen Series by Lauren Kate. Both great series that is about Angels. Also, My cousin influenced me to read The Mortal Instruments Series and The Infernal Devices Series by Cassandra Clare which will have a movie on August 23 this year.
FIRST BIOGRAPHY BOOK:
ALSO THE MOST EXPENSIVE BOOK I'VE EVER BOUGHT COSTS AROUND PHP 800
